Inception of RESON A/S
RESON A/S is founded by the three brothers Jens, Claus, and Per Resen Steenstrup. In the beginning, RESON specializes in homogenisers based on ultrasonic technology. RESON’s expertise in advanced ultrasonic technology still plays a key role while gradually a market niche for underwater acoustic systems is being established.
1982
RESON develops its first series of transducers.
1984
Establishment of first subsidiary company abroad: RESON Inc, located in California, USA.
1985
RESON manufactures its first product line of hydrophones.
1989
On request, RESON designs the first SeaBat Multibeam Sonar Systems.
The sonar is successfully used in transoceanic cable route surveys.
1991
First high-performance SeaBat series to be ROV mounted
The introduction of RESON’s SeaBat 9001 multi-beam echosounder marks a tremendous market breakthrough. Being the first of its kind, its speed, accuracy, and resolution promptly sets new standards in the offshore and hydrographic sector.
Establishment in the United Kingdom of RESON Offshore Ltd
1996
Launch of SeaBat 8101
Digital high-quality multi-beam system with a maximum depth range of 3000 meters.
1998
Launch of SeaBat 8111
Establishment of RESON GmbH in Germany
1999
Launch of SeaBat 8125 + SeaBat 8160
RESON’s first multi-beam system with dynamically focused beams for commercial application.
2000
Launch of SeaBat 8124
Establishment of RESON SA (PTY) Ltd in South Africa
2001
Ready to challenge the deep-water market.
SeaBat 8150 is RESON’s first multibeam echosounder that covers the entire water column.
Acquisition of Navitronic Systems A/S
RESON dramatically expands its product range with the acquisition of Navitronic Systems. The Danish based company is recognized world wide for its NaviSound single beam echosounders, sound velocity probes, and hydrographic software.
Establishment of RESON-Telenav Electronics Pte Ltd in Singapore

Establishment of RESON BV in the Netherlands

Launch of SeaBat 7125
RESON’s new 7125 SeaBat generation represents yet another technological breakthrough in high quality performance.
2006
RESON is owned by a group of professional institutional investors.
