RESON awarded GMS contract by Dutch Dredging
Dutch Dredging has ordered a PDS2000 Hopper Guidance and Monitoring Systems (GMS) for the Trailing Suction Hopper dredger ‘Amazone’
Dutch Dredging based in Sliedrecht, Holland, has awarded RESON Rotterdam a contract to upgrade their existing Guidance and Monitoring Systems (aboard the ship TSHD Amazone) to that of PDS2000 Hopper. The main rea-son for awarding RESON this contract is that RESON supplies both the best quality sensors and the best quality software, and that RESON has an accurate and reliable system for efficient dredging.
RESON has supplied and installed the software and the interfaces to the existing sensors. The operators are pleased with the fast update rate of the screens and the position accuracy of both the tube and the head. The Amazone is also fitted with the latest PDS2000 software for DLM (Draft Load Monitoring) and TDS (Tons Dry Sediment). These two modules provide the operator with information about load, draft, tons dry solids, and reporting.
Dutch Dredging uses PDS2000 for over 6 years now for all their hydrographic surveys using singlebeam and Sea-Bat multibeam echosounders. Survey data such as DTM’s, project data and data-files can be easily exchanged between PDS2000 Survey and PDS2000 Hopper without having to carry out time consuming conversions.
