Great interest shown in SeaBat 7125 demonstrations during OI06

During the Oceanology International 2006 in London March 21st-23rd, the Port of London Survey Vessel YANTLET was successfully used for demonstrating RESON products. Normally YANTLET is equipped with SeaBat 8125 Multibeam sonar, but for OI06 the new advanced SeaBat 7125 Multibeam sonar with PDS2000 acquisition software and a NaviSound 520 Singlebeam Echosounder were installed. YANTLET was operated by staff from the Port of London, and the new RESON equipment demonstrated by technicians and surveyors from RESON.

Even though YANTLET offered demonstrations every hour, almost all tours were fully booked to see the SeaBat 7125 in operation. The SeaBat 7125 has a 128° swath with a depth range of 200m. It can be used from a surface vessel, ROV or AUV to 6000m depth.

To demonstrate the high resolution abilities of the SeaBat 7125, RESON surveyed several targets. Such targets included two automobiles and a sunken dinghy. Demonstration attendees were able to view the tires on the automobile as well as the rigging on the dinghy. It was not surprising that the part of the river outside the ExCeL exhibition center is known as “East London Car Park”.
