Ashtead Technology in Aberdeen UK have taken delivery of a further six RESON SeaBat 7125ROV2 systems with FlexMode, fully calibrated and ready for use, less than a week after placing the order.

The RESON SeaBat 7125ROV2 is the latest evolution of the SeaBat 7125 Series, and is specifically aimed at the oil, gas and renewable market. The 7125 ROV2 systems were supplied with RESON’s new FP2.0 software as well as the FlexMode option. The new FP2.0 software offers variable swath width from 45 to 165 degrees, with electronic beam steering (head tilt). The FlexMode beam forms equidistant beams across the full cross profile to a user defined grid distance. The remaining beams are formed as equiangular beams in a user defined high resolution sector. This high resolution sector provides the user with a very detailed profile of the pipeline with a very clean data set, which is fast to process, thus saving time and money.

Ashtead Technology rent specialist advanced equipment to the Offshore Oil & Gas, Environmental Monitoring and Industrial Inspection Industries from 24 locations across Europe, America and Asia. Ashtead Technology Offshore Division is a global market leader in the rental of ROV, Survey, Underwater Positioning, Diver and NDT equipment and field support personnel, backed up by 24/7 support and service.

RESON and Ashtead have had a long and trusted relationship, with on-going support, and training for Ashtead personnel, ensuring that Ashtead can meet the ever growing demand from their clients for the newest technology available on today’s market.

Increasing demands for SeaBat 8125-H and SeaBat 7125 ROV2 systems

Its official, Seatronics an Acteon company own the largest number of RESON SeaBat Systems in the world. With a continued effort to exceed customers expectations and deliver only the latest in technology, this year alone Seatronics invested in excess of €2,500,000 in SeaBat sonar systems. This huge investment has presented an increase in enquiries for the latest SeaBat 8125H and SeaBat 7125 ROV2 systems, both of which run the new FlexMode that delivers variable swath, real-time roll stabilisation and reliable seafloor detection in all underwater acoustic environments.

RESON products are widely used in the Oil and Gas industry

Seatronics’ Managing Director, David Currie said: “It is very clear that RESON Multibeam sonars continue to be the most widely used and asked for Multibeam rental product in the Oil and Gas industry.” After an association with RESON spanning more than 19 years, Seatronics are still buying a range of sonars from RESON with the focus on the ROV mounted products. In our opinion RESON produce world class leading sonar technology and we are happy to be recognised as the largest owner of their products.

Highest growth rate for multibeam sounders ever

RESON has experienced the highest growth rate for multibeam echosounders ever, and one of the largest customers and partners in 2011 was Seatronics.
RESON’s CEO Kim Lehmann comments on the relationship with Seatronics: “It’s positive to see that a long-term customer and partner like Seatronics has managed to build up the largest asset base of RESON SeaBat multibeam echosounders. And we naturally appreciated the business relationship and the knowledgesharing we have with Seatronics.”

Seatronics

Seatronics Ltd, an Acteon company, specialises in subsea marine electronic equipment rental for a range of applications, navigation and positioning; environmental and geophysical surveying; inspection and construction work; ROV survey sensors; diver-led non-destructive testing and video inspection. Its skilled engineers provide a comprehensive service that encompasses equipment installation, set-up, calibration, cable moulding and data acquisition.

Recently the Scottish based company ADUS purchased a SeaBat 8125-H Multibeam Echosounder

The Scottish based company ADUS purchased a SeaBat 8125-H Multibeam Echosounder to their range of sonars. ADUS use the SeaBat to collect high-resolution data of sea bed structures. By investing in the SeaBat 8125-H, ADUS will benefit from new beam forming modes such as FlexMode which enables ADUS to collect more dense data over areas with wrecks, offshore wind turbines, or pipelines.

Within their specialist survey capability, ADUS can collect and visualizes multibeam sonar data on shipwrecks which are an environmental hazard as they contain oil, explosives, nuclear material, or other potentially toxic materials. The new hybrid version, the SeaBat 8125-H, can, with a unique and highly advanced data processor, ensure that ADUS can collect the necessary high-resolution multibeam data which is necessary for them to perform a visualization of the presumed environmental hazards of shipwrecks.

RESON provides high quality underwater acoustic hardware and software solutions. SeaBat is the undisputed leading Multibeam Echosounder on the market, and is used as the preferred sonar in offshore, marine, defense, dredging, and other hydrographic applications.

RESON A/S is the holding company of the RESON Group. Corporate headquarter in Denmark. RESON subsidiaries are established in the USA, Singapore, UK, Germany, and Netherlands. In addition to these subsidiaries there are RESON representatives located in 25 countries.

Some of the core business areas include: Offshore oil-, and gas industries, marine research, hydrographic and bathymetric surveyors, dredging operators, cable-laying companies, harbor construction companies, naval surveillance, and public environmental monitoring activities.

Prominent Visit at DSEi 2011 By Admiral Sir Mark Stanhope

RESON showcased a live demo with SeaBat 7128

First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Sir Mark Stanhope GCB OBE ADC met with RESON’s Business Development Manager John Fraser, Business Development Manager Tommy Sturesson and André De Schipper.

During a very successful DSEi (Defence & Security Equipment International) exhibition the 13- 16 September 2011, RESON was featured as exhibitor in the hall area and as a supplier of underwater acoustic solutions demonstrating equipment in the adjoining dockside. Surrounded by water, Excel Exhibition centre in London, is an ideal setting for a live boat demo. RESON showcased a live demonstration of a diver detection solution with SeaBat 7128 as the turn-key system for diver detection. The meeting between RESON and Admiral Sir Mark Stanhope, First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff, was with a common interest for securing harbor and coastal assets as well as mobile force protection.

A great interest in RESON and the SeaBat range of multibeam sonars, coming from customers, prospects and other suppliers in the industry, has made the four day exhibition at DSEi very busy and a great success for John Fraser and his RESON colleagues.

Combined with RESON PDS2000 ADT software the SeaBat 7128 proved the highest resolution imagery of both the harbor quay walls and seabed surface. As a forward looking multibeam sonar, It is well suited to shallow-water imaging applications, and is also available in versions pressure rated up to 6,000m water depth. The SeaBat 7128 generates high resolution images using either 200kHz for long range detection or 400kHz for shorter range identification – a power combination for a wide range of Naval applications.
The SeaBat 7128 is equally at home in civilian applications in the offshore industry where applications include monitoring of underwater intervention from ROV platforms.
